Just limit the amount so you do not arrive feeling jittery. Go easy on liquids right before we start too, so you are not needing constant restroom breaks in the middle of a past life. Beyond that, my clients do best when they come in curious and rested rather than trying to make anything happen. The preparation is simple on purpose.

Hypnosis feels like the natural state you pass through right before falling asleep, when you are neither fully awake nor fully asleep. Here is how I describe the brainwave states to my clients. Beta is your active, conscious waking state. Alpha is light meditation or light hypnosis. Theta is the deep trance where past lives are accessed, often accompanied by fluttering eyes. Delta is deep sleep or profound trance. Unlike sleep, where your conscious mind switches off, in hypnosis and meditation you remain fully aware of your surroundings. The difference between the two is direction. Meditation is about stillness, while hypnosis is active and goal oriented, with a conversation running the whole time.

Knowing your past lives helps you grow because it shows you where a pattern actually started. Under deep hypnosis you observe significant events and emotional patterns from earlier lifetimes that carried over into this one, and you find what I call the initial seed, the moment it all began. Once you understand how a past situation is still shaping your reactions today, you can resolve it back in its original context rather than wrestling with the symptoms here. What tends to happen is that the heavy energy that was never cleared finally lets go on its own. Clients often tell me that is when they feel free to step into their real potential in the present.

Your spirit guides are loving, non physical beings who watch over you and help you from the spirit world. Sometimes a guide offers a simple nickname to get started, and sometimes they confirm they are happy with whatever name you already use for them in meditation. Either way, you leave the session with a recognizable relationship you can keep building. That makes it much easier to reach out to them on your own in the self hypnosis exercises you take home.

Difficult family relationships often go back to a plan your soul made before you were born. Our souls arrange family connections ahead of time, and they often set up challenging scenarios on purpose so we can learn something crucial like forgiveness, boundaries or self worth. A soul that needs to learn forgiveness, for example, may ask a close member of its own soul group to play the antagonist or the mean one in this life. That is a big favor to ask, and it is usually done out of love.
