Sit upright, propped up with several pillows in bed or relaxed in an easy chair, sofa or recliner with good neck support. I steer clients away from lying flat because your brain is deeply programmed to associate lying flat in bed with deep, unconscious sleep. During trance you stay actively awake and conversational so you can answer my questions, and sitting upright keeps your physical body from accidentally drifting off into normal sleep.
